PHILOSOPHY and APPROACH
I assist clients by empowering and encouraging them to build on their strengths as well as possibilities in order to move to a place of hope, healing, and wholeness. I work with adults, couples and adolescents on relationship issues and creating mental/emotional wellness. Therapy related to relationship includes strengthening bi-cultural marriage, building healthy relationships, pre-marital preparation, and parenting. Mental/emotional wellness deals with issues such as anxiety, depression, self-esteem, personal development, and recovery from trauma.
In therapy sessions, I integrate existential, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and dialectic behavioral models. When working with adolescents, play therapy and art therapy are incorporated as necessary. As a trained mediator, I will use conflict management techniques when appropriate. I believe that sustainable plans of action are often based on Christian worldview.
